Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the managed Bitcoin payment processing and BTCPay hosting business operated under the Bitcoin-TX name.

This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and otherwise process personal data relating to visitors, account holders, team members, billing contacts, support contacts, and other users of the Services.

Who We Are

Bitcoin-TX is the controller of personal data described in this Policy unless we expressly state otherwise.

For privacy requests or questions, contact contact@bitcoin-tx.com.

Personal Data We Process

Depending on how you use the Services, we may process account registration data, contact details, login and authentication data, billing and subscription data, support communications, transaction-related metadata, invoice metadata, store configuration data, IP addresses, browser and device information, security and audit logs, and information you choose to upload or submit through the Services.

We do not intentionally collect private keys, seed phrases, mnemonics, or similar wallet secrets through normal operation of the managed hosting service. You must not send such secrets to us unless we expressly request them through a secure process and only where legally and operationally necessary.

Sources of Personal Data

We collect personal data directly from you, from your authorized team members, from your use of the Services, from payment processors and infrastructure providers involved in service delivery, and from third parties you choose to connect to the Services.

How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to create and administer accounts, provide managed hosting and payment infrastructure services, process subscriptions and billing, authenticate users, prevent abuse, maintain service security, provide customer support, communicate about service matters, improve and troubleshoot the Services, comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect our business, users, and service providers.

Lawful Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a lawful basis, we process personal data because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to comply with legal obligations, and to pursue our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Services. In limited cases, we may also rely on your consent where required by law.

How We Share Personal Data

We may share personal data with hosting providers, infrastructure vendors, analytics and monitoring providers, payment processors, customer support tools, contractors, professional advisers, affiliates, law enforcement or regulators where required, counterparties involved in a corporate transaction, and other service providers acting on our instructions or under their own legal responsibilities.

We may also disclose personal data where we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, detect or prevent fraud or security incidents, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others.

Blockchain and Public Network Data

If you use Bitcoin, Lightning, or similar network-connected features, transaction-related information may be recorded on public or semi-public networks outside our control. Blockchain records and public payment metadata may be visible to others and may be effectively permanent.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security and audit trails, manage billing and contractual relationships, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, comply with legal obligations, and protect our legitimate interests.

Retention periods vary by data type, technical necessity, backup lifecycle, and legal requirements. We may retain limited records after account closure where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, compliance, tax, accounting, legal defense, or operational continuity purposes.

International Transfers

Your personal data may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries with different data protection standards. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions and technical limitations.

Cookies, Security, and Third Parties

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, language preferences, site functionality, analytics, and service improvement. If you deploy or enable analytics, advertising, or other optional tracking tools, ensure your consent and disclosure practices match applicable law in the jurisdictions where you operate.

The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party products, websites, wallets, plugins, payment tools, or cloud services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies and not by this Privacy Policy.

Children, Changes, and Contact

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted or on the later date stated in the notice. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
